Cabinet Door Sign...

I have had a few old cabinet doors just laying around in my garage for awhile. I knew I would do something with them, just didn't know exactly what... until today. I got "bit" by the craft bug and just had to do something.

I started with this:

The thing I love about these doors is that both ends are curved towards the inside and the middle of them have the look of barn wood planks. {I heart barn wood}

I painted the door with Krylon Blue Ocean Breeze (gloss) spray paint.

I like to use "gloss" sheen when I am going to add a glaze, because it will still look a tad shiny, but not overly glossy. If you were to use a flat paint, it would look more dull.

My all time favorite glaze is Valspar Antiquing Glaze in the color Asphaltum. It is not a black glaze, but more of a bronze brownish black in color. (yes, I made up that color :)

You can see just how bright the door was just after painting.

I put my glaze on in the direction of the wood grain. It looks better than if you were to use a circular motion.

After the glaze was dry, I distressed it just a little bit.

Oh how I wish I had a Silhouette machine!! IF I did, I would have made some vinyl lettering for this, but since I do not, I stenciled the word "Faith" and hand painted the letters on. I just used some black craft paint I had on hand.

After the lettering dried, I distressed the letters a little.

Here it is all finished...

I think it looks pretty good for a Tuesday afternoon project!!
